With the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course you make a real commitment to safety. You'll be able to look after yourself and others, making diving safer for everyone. Most divers say this is the most rewarding course, and the one that builds the most safety and experience.

On top of your usual gear you'll use a dive computer and various accessories (resuscitation mask, oxygen cylinder, etc.).

If you don't have first-aid knowledge, you can take the SSI React Right first-aid course with us.

Requirements

  • Be over 12 years old
  • Be an Open Water Diver or equivalent (Advanced not required)
  • No health conditions incompatible with diving
  • Have completed emergency oxygen, first-aid and CPR training within the last 2 years (or take the SSI React Right course with us, which includes oxygen)

What do I need before signing up for Rescue?

Be an Open Water Diver (or equivalent) and have current (last 2 years) training in emergency oxygen, first aid and CPR. If you don't have it, you can take it with us (SSI React Right).

Is it a physically demanding course?

It includes in-water rescue exercises, so it requires good physical fitness and being comfortable in the water.
